“You may feel lost right now, but you haven’t lost yourself. Together, we can begin to find your way back to who you are and what you want.”
WHO I help
For people who carry everyone else while quietly falling apart.
Linzi works with adults who have kept things going for everyone else, often for far longer than anyone realises. They look organised, capable and dependable. Underneath, they may feel anxious, exhausted or overwhelmed, with a running commentary telling them they should be coping better.
The strain follows them through the day. They replay conversations, procrastinate over decisions and lie awake with thoughts that refuse to settle. Frustration sometimes spills out around the people closest to them. Work and relationships become harder, old interests fall away, and stress may show up as pain or tension in the body.
Some are adjusting to loss or a major change. Others have become so used to putting their own needs last that they no longer know what those needs are. Beneath the worry, low mood or lack of confidence, there is often a painful distrust of themselves — and very little compassion for the person who has been carrying so much.
“Nobody knows what they’re carrying because they’ve become very good at carrying it.”
how i work
Warm, calm and gently challenging when it matters.
Working with Linzi feels calm, collaborative and purposeful. She is genuinely interested in what has shaped each person, brings humour into the room when it fits, and gently challenges the thinking that keeps them stuck.
Her integrative, person-centred approach means the work is shaped around the individual. She may draw on psychodynamic thinking to explore where patterns began, CBT and ACT to work with thoughts and behaviour, or IFS to understand the different parts of someone that may be pulling in opposite directions. The client leads, while Linzi helps them identify what they want to change and build a plan together.
Over time, clients often become better at noticing their emotions, needs and patterns before being swept along by them. Boundaries become clearer. Self-criticism begins to soften. Relationships with other people can improve, but the most important shift is often the relationship they build with themselves.
“Change doesn’t always arrive as one big shift. Sometimes it’s the small changes that make all the difference.”
It's nice to meet you!
Two dogs. Camping. Hopeless at drawing.
Linzi came to counselling through her own experience of how therapy can help someone reconnect with parts of themselves they thought they had lost. Outside work, she restores herself with beach walks with her two dogs, camping weekends in the countryside, mindfulness and breathwork. She loves bringing creativity into therapy, despite being hopeless at drawing.
